Lead-acid battery is composed of positive and negative plate, separator, shell, electrolyte and connecting pile, etc. The chemical reaction of discharge depends on positive plate active substance and negative plate active substance in the electrolyte (dilute sulfuric acid solution), wherein the grid frame of plate is made of lead-antimony alloy.
Lead-acid battery, not only directly affects the quality and life of the battery, but also affects the safety of starting equipment and the completion of the task. Therefore, battery maintenance, storage is an important work of battery use and sales personnel.
Maintenance of lead-acid battery is divided into routine maintenance and regular maintenance. Daily maintenance refers to the maintenance in daily work, which is the most basic and effective work of battery maintenance. Regular maintenance is for the different circumstances of the battery, in the charging station to carry out a certain project maintenance, only in the daily maintenance work on the basis of good, combined with regular maintenance, to do a good job in the maintenance of the battery.
Battery maintenance
⑴Daily maintenance
①Always keep the battery surface clean. When dust and sulfuric acid are found on the surface, sassafras should be immediately swabbed. Sassafras can be swabbed with sassafras cloth dipped in soda water before rinsed with water.
②According to the provisions of the battery charging, discharging and supplementary work
③In the process of charging and discharging, the ventilator should be operated to remove acid fog, so that the indoor air is relatively fresh, in order to reduce the corrosion of acidic molecules on personnel and equipment.
④Battery charging room should always be kept clean, dry, air circulation, adequate light. Wet mop sassafras clean ground, in the case of clean, better insulation, you can sprinkle water on the ground, keep indoor humidity, to reduce the evaporation of water in the battery;
⑵Regular maintenance
①Adjust the electrolyte density (also called changing seasons) according to the change of climate season according to the requirements of the specification;
②Timely check and troubleshoot the battery;
③When the battery loses water, the pure water should be added in time to prevent the plate from oxidizing and reducing the utilization rate. Do not add electrolyte; During the use of the battery, the voltage of the charging appliance (13.8-14.4v) should be adjusted to prevent overcharging.
④Check and verify the instruments (such as densitometer, thermometer, voltmeter and ammeter) used for battery measurement, so as not to affect the quality of battery maintenance due to inaccurate instruments;
Maintenance-free battery is made of lead calcium alloy, because the battery USES lead calcium alloy for grid frame, less so when the charging water decomposition, moisture evaporation is also low, coupled with the outer seal structure, the release of acid gas is very few, so it is compared with the traditional battery, do not need to add any liquid, less corrosion of wiring pile head, electrical, and body, overcharge resistance is strong, large starting current, power advantages of long storage time, is very popular in domestic in recent years.
What we call a "maintenance-free battery" is not really a "maintenance-free" battery, but one that does not normally need to be recharged. In some cars, the maintenance-free battery is equipped with a temperature-compensated hydrometer, which indicates the storage state of the battery and the height of the electrolyte level. When the indicating eye of the hydrometer is green, it indicates that the charge is sufficient and the battery is normal. When indicating little green eye or black, indicating alkaline battery needs charging; When the indicator eye shows a light yellow color, indicating that there is a fault in the battery, it needs to be repaired or replaced. The battery should be charged under any of the following circumstances: the specific gravity of the electrolyte falls below 1.2; Over 25% discharge in winter; Over 50% discharge in summer; The lights are dim; Weak startup.
No matter what kind of battery, long without it will slowly discharge itself, until the scrap. Therefore, every once in a while should start the car, to charge the battery. Another way is to pull out the battery on the two electrodes, need to pay attention to pull out from the electrode column positive, negative two electrode wire, to pull out the negative wire, or remove the negative and car chassis connection. Then unplug with a positive sign (+) on the other end, the battery has a certain service life, to a certain period of time to replace. The same order is followed when replacing, but the opposite is true when attaching the electrode wires, first to the positive pole and then to the negative pole.
